Mental health falls under this umbrella and can become unwell if we are not socially and emotional well . Language is important and having worked in the field for a while now in clinical and non clinical roles rarely have I worked with or supported a person who’s mental health became unwell in isolation. We experience life in our systems ( family, work, community) and they all leave their imprint on us in different ways. Working with a skilled practitioner can support you to optimal Social and Emotional Wellbeing. Through this stream we deliver Wayapa Wuurrk and one on one counselling. Wayapa services can be booked as an Introduction to Wayapa Wuurrk ( 60 mins, 90 mins, 2 hours) , Introduction and follow up session and our 6 week Immersion courses. The lack of Cultural Awareness and safety in our main stream health organisations are one of the major barriers to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders not accessing the appropriate health services for their needs. Our Education stream offers tailored education sessions in Cultural Awareness and Safety for Health and Mental Health Services and practitioners . Including the use of the Social and Emotional Wellbeing Framework . If you are an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander SEWB/Mental Health practitioner or Social Worker , Jaquara Jean also provides one on one clinical and therapeutic supervision.
